By now you've heard about “Reality Bytes” and have watched it as it moves through pre-production. Here's something new. The producers of “Reality Bytes” are unveiling another layer to this multi-platform webisode. “Beyond Reason,” the soap behind the soap. Co-Producer Tristan Rogers announced this new layer, a writing contest, on his message board, and how fans can now take part in the fun.
This contest came about after Co-Producer Kate Lang wanted to have a way for fans to participate in the process of helping to create a show. Then she and Tristan created a way for fans to share their own ideas. She states, “There are a great many writers out there who would love a chance to write for a soap. This is a way for them to be read and share what they write with others. At the same time, they have the chance to have a scene of theirs enacted. It's a thrilling prospect for me. I thought others might enjoy the idea and take a chance with it.”
You’ve been asking for it and true to Tristan’s word, you’ve got it. Many of you have asked for the opportunity to chat with Tristan, and on Thursday, October 22nd, you will have the opportunity to do so. Tristan will be making an appearance on his All Access website, and is offering each of you a free pass to the chat room there.
(Below are the instructions on how this will happen, and how to get there.) What questions do you have that you’ve always wanted to ask? Get ready… see you there!
Of late, a limited amount has come from this site regarding Reality Bytes and my part in it. For a long time now I have been talking about new soaps as against the existing ones. If this genre is going to move ahead there needs to be an infusion of new ideas that can take the genre of Daytime to the next level and maybe further. Moving around the Web I constantly see new ideas and concepts being discussed and tried out. I feel lucky to have been part of Daytimes Golden Era and to have made a contribution. But I also want to see soaps evolve and move ahead of where they are now. I also want to be apart of this new wave and hopefully contribute again.
