Lilly Melgar has jumped into "The Bay" with both feet.  She plays the fiery Janice Ramos in "The Bay," an up and coming webseries by Producer/Writer/Director Gregori J. Martin.  This exciting cast is full of daytime notables such as Mary Beth Evans, Martha Madison, Kristos Andrews, Matthew Ashford, Matthew Borlenghi, Nicolas Coster, Ilene Kristen, and many others including, Tristan Rogers, who also serves as a Producer.  With fans anticipating the September 15th premier, Lilly takes a moment to share her thoughts about "The Bay" and gives us a peek at what is to come.

TR.COM:  You have quite a following who remember you well from "General Hospital" (Lily Corinthos) and "The Bold and the Beautiful" (Claudia Cortez). What do you think fans will be hoping for or expecting to see with Janice Ramos, your character in "The Bay"?  Who is she?

LM:  I think my fans will be hoping to see something new. I think they're not only looking forward to seeing me back on screen but excited to see new colors and sensibilities to my personality that they may have not experienced yet. Janice will definitely give them that. She's unlike any character I have played before. Everyone will see me in a new light. Janice is passionate, fiery, confrontational, sexy, manipulative, fiercely loyal to the ones she loves. She's Sara Garrett's nemesis and has a teenage daughter which is a bit of a rebel, putting it mildly. (laughs)

TR.COM:  Why did you choose "The Bay" and this character to dive back into the serial format?  What about Janice did you find interesting?

LM:  I chose the Bay because I had already worked with Gregory on his last two films and really enjoyed the process. When he described Janice to me, I knew I had to play her. It was the perfect character to display other aspects of myself that have not been seen. This is always fun for an actor. I also wanted to be part of this new internet movement and I like his vision, a classic soap formula with a modern twist.

TR.COM:  Webisodes are gaining attention, especially with casts like "The Bay."  What kind of feedback are you getting about your participation in a new genre of soaps?

LM:  My family, friends and fans are incredibly supportive. I am very blessed to be surrounded by such encouragement. Everyone is excited to embark on this journey with me.

TR.COM:  You have quite a following on your Facebook page.  How are fans reacting to your announcements and updates about "The Bay"?

LM:  They are ecstatic! I am always being asked to update them. They are all anxious about the Bay.

TR.COM:  What have you enjoyed most about filming "The Bay"?

lillyjadeLM:  I have enjoyed the energy on set the most. There is no ego, and that creates a safe place for everyone to genuinely connect and create. There is so much love, support and encouragement between the cast and crew. I love going to work and feel so grateful to work with the people I'm working with. I am really enjoying the natural chemistry with my cast mates and of course the lifelong bonds being built.

TR.COM:  What do you have to say to your fans about tuning in to "The Bay"?

LM:  I want to thank our fans for their love and support, for taking this journey with us and to know that we are doing our best to give them something new and dynamic. We appreciate them tremendously and will be listening to their feedback. We get to do what we do because of them ... so I just want to thank them for tuning in and supporting.

"The Bay" premiers September 15th at thebaytheseries.blip.tv.  Those and future episodes will be available for viewing each Wednesday by 3 pm ET.  Tune in and watch this exciting series and see your favorite daytime actors as the story unfolds from week to week.
