To celebrate Tristan's 62nd birthday, the staff at TR.com decided to surprise him and prank him all at the same time.  Quietly contacting a few of his closest friends, they asked them to send video birthday wishes to him and proposed what would later turn out to be a first in E-cards:  personal video included.  "We contacted as many of his friends as we could, trying to keep it quiet.  Tristan is impossible to surprise.  We think it's mostly so many years playing a spy," joked one staffer.  "We had a lot of people who were interested in participating, but we had a time crunch and a technology barrier with some people.  What we were proposing was so new, not a lot of people had the technology on hand to participate," explained TR.com's creative director.

"Tristan had no idea what we were up to," she continued.  "When we had all the videos we received in and the card completed, we gave him the link and completed the surprise."  What did Tristan think of their devious nature?  "I adored it," Tristan stated.  "It remains to me one of the coolest things I've ever seen."
