I was reading another blog about the technology of the Wii controller changing the way we might interact with our computers in the future.

For those of you that don't have a Wii, the controller has a sensor and I believe a gyroscope so that it can sense the changes in movement and direction. To control the games you simply move the controller simulating movements like swinging a tennis racket or a multitude of others.

How could someone use that technology to enhance the TV viewing experience?

This reminds me of that Southwest Airlines "Need to Get Away?" commercial. Makes me laugh everytime I see it.

I laugh on that one too Di. Some people just like to have their 15 minutes...or in youtube's case...it's 10 minutes.

So after pondering for awhile, I've come up with some although they are tied into the advertising. They also don't really use the uniqueness of the Wii controller. (I'm still stuck in that old controller box.)

1. Reward me for finding the advertised products within the show. For example have a commercial for Maxwell house coffee and then in the next segment have a can of Maxwell House coffee sitting on the counter at Kelly's. My job as a viewer is to locate and click on those. If I do then I can unlock additional content that is either shown in lieu of the next Maxwell House commercial or forwarded to my e-mail. (If you forward to my e-mail you do get that big brother, whose really watching kind of data.)

2. Have questions within the commercial so if I pay attention to the commercial I can answer the question. Then the next time that commercial comes on once I respond to the question that commercial ends and goes onto the next one. The better I am at responding to the commercials the more content I get.

Okay so I still have to think about how to incorporate the movement aspect of the Wii Controller.

P.S. - Thanks for the health and safety precautions. LOL I'm waiting for them to put a warning label on water. Caution - Overdose may cause nausea, vomiting or even death.

That's interesting, Di. The commercial was funny. Thanks for the link.

I just laugh at some of these product warnings. Like "for external use only" on something like hemorroid cream. You know what that means. Yep, some idiot somewhere might have actually thought that eating PrepH was a good idea. Now if someone could just explain to me why removing that label from my mattress is such a hazard all would be right with the world, lol.

I like my wii. It's a fun time.
