I happened up on a clip tonight on youtube and could swear I saw Tristan Rogers. I didn't see any mention of it though on IMDB. The clip appears to be from around the mid to late seventies.
Oh yeah, by the way, I started watching General Hospital after flipping through the (all three) channels and seeing Tristan. I was hooked immediately.

Do you have a linked I'll love to see it? he said he auditioned for Days not sure if he was on it but I could be wrong.
Thank for the link...and nooooo that wasn't him oh noooo it wasn't him sounded like he an accent too. but no it wasn't him.
Well, if it was the mid to the late seventies, it couldn't have been Tristan, he began his soap days on General Hospital in April-May of 1981, it was Mrs. Monty who hired him. And remember the guy wasn't even suppose to live for more than 2 weeks, he did and he did it for 12 exciting years and a half!
Funny, the accent was mentionned, Robert Scorpio was suppose to be a South-African spy at first and then they decided to make him American, Aussies and their wonderful accents weren't the trend of the day, yet, and it was when Gloria (soapgawds rest her soul) heard Tristan talking on the set that she told him that she wanted him to take his accent back. Tristan was told at first to lose the accent.....
That's how the every thing Aussie trend, began, Tristan opened the doors to Crocodile Dundee, to MadMax (Mel Gibson also Australian!) he also opened the doors to Nicole Kidman, Sam Neil, Russel Crowe and Hugh Jackman, if it wasn't for him and Gloria (soapgawds rest her soul) we may never have had the chance to live the Aussie Craze that he started 26 years and a half ago! Tristan and my Robert were the reasons why it all started!

Just one small correction Tristan came on GH in nov or Dec 1980 by April or May of 1981 the Ice Princess storyline was in full spring.

You're right, my mistake..but the Ice Princess storyline did last for a full 9 to 10 months, yes I did make a mistake, but for the rest, I'm right on it..right!
But thanks for telling me, I stand corrected........thank ya!
And of course, I should have remembered because after all I was part of the viewers who called to keep him on this soap.........I probably was too memerized to remember correctly.....after all, it was Tristan's fault, but mainly it was Robert's fault he had me in a trance!

Yes. If memory serves, I think it was Nov/Dec. of 1980 when Tristan first appeared. Didn't he once say Gloria told them (GH writers) I don't care what you do with him (until she could come up with a story for him) just put in the bg somewhere, lurking. Something to that effect, anyways. I think I also remember something about Gloria was actually looking for an Austrian to play a nemesis for Luke, and by some quirk of fate, someone thought she said Australian? Seems to me I also heard another story about Gloria meeting some Richard Bransonish Aussie tycoon and that was what inspired the choice of an Aussie for the role that became Robert Scorpio.
Whatever quirk of fate produced Tristan Rogers appearing in Gloria Monty's office, I am quite grateful. Couldn't have imagined my youth without Robert and Luke and Laura. Good times.
Thanks Tristan !!

The "Days of Our Lives" thing.
This was the first show in the US I ever went up for. It was around Aug 1980. I don't recall the character but I had to do it with an American accent.
The audition went smoothly and I actually got a compliment on the accent. But it didn't work out.
Then there was talk about my comming to OLTL as Bob Woods brother. This was never an audition and came as an inquiry through the casting director who had me in for DOOL. I don't think it developed into anything.
Then came GH in Nov of 1980. This as I have oft related was a 3 day role that "got out of control".
And so it was. Hope you are having a good time playing in this site.

Nobody is ever right until the guy who played those roles is making you wrong on every thing you had the nerve to uttered. Lesson taken, I'm going back where I belong into my fanhood, now, now, now, I've never said that I was right, now did I? LOL!
When did I say that I was modest? who me? nah! Snap out of it y'all....I'm just having fun, indeed Tristan, but thanks for clearing that up. Oh well! I'm a Robert Scorpio fan, but it would have been interesting to see the making of a brotherhood with Bob Woods and Tristan, I've always said that Bo Buchanan was one the closest male character to Robert as he could have possibly been, closely followed by Bill Eckert. Those two had the same values and principles, they had a code of honour that they always sticked to, through thick and thin!

Oh! I'm so unworthy of being your fan dear man!
