Sarah Palin rumoured to be heading to ‘Desperate Housewives’
A Page Six report in the New York Post is claiming Desperate Housewives creator and executive producer Marc Cherry wants Republican U.S. presidential running mate Sarah Palin on his show.
The report quotes a source close to Cherry as saying Palin’s ideal role would be playing a character similar to herself, and that Disney is totally on board.
Not so, according to various ABC insiders. Palin and Cherry have had no talks about this so-called appearance, and no plans are in the works.
Cherry is instead focusing on the current (and much-improved) season of Housewives, and planning Season 6, which will serve as a lead-in to the final, seventh season of the show.
Naturally the producer is hesitant to give away any major details, but has said that the series will end with one housewife.
Our guess is that will be Bree Van De Kamp (Marcia Cross), who is modeled after Cherry’s own mother. Bree’s son, Andrew, was originally a model of Cherry as a boy.
The current season of Housewives has picked up in the ratings thanks to a much-improved storyline. Throwing the show five years into the future has done wonders for the Wisteria Lane crew, and viewers are responding.
