I find it ironic that we can watch steaming movies, watch TV, listen to radio on the web, yet ISP's are clamping down on bandwidth usage.

As of October 1st, Comcast is clamping down. If you are a heavy user you could lose your broadband connection.

They do say this won't affect most users but what the hell?!!

The web gets more and more rich with media, yet you will be cut off of you use it too much.
Try living in Canada.. We have been capped since June of this year. If we go over our bandwidth usage allowence for the month then we are charged for the extra bandwidth. There is no plan that is unlimited anymore. There is even some throttling being done controling certain site usages. It is really not fair now that we are offered so much over the Internet but are now being limited to what we can do with it. I hate it.
It defies all logic. I am glad my charter pipeline is still unlimited because my usage is usually through the roof. I wonder how much bandwidth this site uses with all the media. I know I'm thankful for all of the media on this site. I can't imagine the bitchiness you would get from me if my internet usage was limited.

I have no issues with bandwidth usage here in Calgary through my cable provider.
I haven't been effected by this at the moment. I hope I won't.
