Good Night to Everyone. I have some serious thoughts to share as a Fan. This Story-Line with Robert has greatly disturbed Me as a Fan. it has caused Me to have very deep Mental and Emotional scars. The problems I have with this are many. The First one being that it has taken place about a Decade or 2 far too early in both Tristan's life as Person/Actor and in Robert's Life as Character.
Tristan is ONLY 62 Years old, NOT 72 or 82 when a Story-Line of this Nature and Magntude would have been much more appropriate in Time. Sri Rao said the Story-Line direction/decision to give Robert Scorpio Colon Cancer was not a easy one to make, but felt it was the right Direction to Go He did not EXPLAIN , ot felt this WAY. WHY He did this. or felt this way. ( i do not want to hear that that was the only way to get Robert to fit in with Night Shift, or to get Robert's Family back together in a Dramatic Meaningful way.)
Robert's Family was ALREADY put back together back in 1991 the catalyst for this was the BOMB ATTACK STORY-LINE. Where Robert had a BOMB thrown in His office and suffered Life-Threatening Injuries in the LINE OF DUTY.
I as a fan was put through enough Mental and EMOTIONAL Hell then not knowing if Robert was going to LIVE or DIE. Why do a "Been there, Done that" kind of thing 17 Years later? This Time with Robert being SICK?
What? The 1991 Bomb Attack Story-Line did not put Us fans through enough Mental and Emotional Hell that we had to be put through it AGAIN? I also remember that Tristan told us that He doubted very seriously that GLORIA would Green-Lighted a Story-Line like this on Her watch. THEN WHY DO THIS? I feel that He should have honored Gloria's memory and spirit and NOT done this. She discovered Him and Her Production Team , Her Writing Team , Her Director's team made Robert The Character I fell in LOVE with.
A ICONIC Character from any Genre should never be DECONSTRUCTED.
It greatly disturbs fans when this is done. This Story-Line affected Me so much on so many levels, it made Me SICK.
Tristan also said in Today's reality Superman gets hurt. THAT IS NEVER supposed to happen to a Super-Hero. it goes against Super-Hero Canon.
Super-Hero's are supposed to be Super Human and indestructable. They are never supposed to LOSE. The bad Guys ALWAYS lose and the Super Hero Good Guys are always supposed to WIN. can You imagine This being done to JAMES BOND? The very Character that Robert was modeled after? NO WAY.
Not even Jason Bourne or Jack Ryan for that matter. It would never FLY with Fans of those Characters. As far as Robert being Human, His Marriage Relationship to Holly made Him about as Human as I ever wanted to see Him. I could count on one Hand the times Robert CRIED. it was less than 5 Times. Who in their Right Mind ever wanted to see Robert like this? NOT ME.
I hope that this is the last Time We ever see Robert close to DEATH from being either critically injured or sick. 2 Times in 17 years was enough for Me. I want to see the KICK A A KICKING crime fighting SOB back in action doing what He does best TAKING DOWN and TAKING OUT bad guys and bad girls either singly or in groups. and GET ON WITH IT.
I will share more with You all next Time. i have to do this in installments/Episodes.
Love to all, Lori.
I missed You all.
Well, Lori

First things first I think that Sri was right to bring Robert back this way. He wanted and so did Tristan to show Robert in a more human way than he was ever showned before. Secondly, if Robert was brought back up with colon cancer, stage 4 to be exact (the most lethal kind), it was to reconnect him with his only daughter, because until proven otherwise, he only has one, he also had to be reconnected with Mac and Anna, at least as the mother of his only child. Sri went further than what I thought he would, even went further than what Tristan thought of......

And fourth but not least, Sri had to do it all over again, why? Because, Guza (but what does Guza know) was too incompetent to do it right the first time he brought Robert back, same for Robin and Anna, of course, junior is a hack, what's left for me to say?

Oh! Yes, one more thing, I disagree with you, fictionnal heroes (as Superman or Batman or any other one) do not suffer through the pain of cancer or any other illness, but real, relatable and palpable heroes do, and ever since Robert has first walked on in front of us, haven't we stop saying that he always was too real for us, so much so that we've been talking about him as if he had been alive for the last 30 years (29 years and a half to be exact....).

So nope to me, Sir Sri couldn't have done it any better than this....Sri's writing my beloved Robert and family hasn't disturbed me half the way that what Guza did in 2006, in fact, I think that Sri has just give me some of my sanity back, part of this sanity that leaked ever since Guza (HACK![Image: 7.gif]) brought back Robert, Anna and Robin since 2005, if that is possible at all..yep, it is possible....I'm ssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssooooooooooooooooooooo Sri's bitch!

Just as the phoenix does, Robert just rose from his ashes....Scorpio rise, for eternity and beyond!

Well, Lori, I would have to disagree with you on this one. This was a fabulous story written for a fabulous character. Robert is a human character...with human issues. We finally got to see what that part of Robert, which has been underdeveloped for so many years. I, for one, am happy to see this side of him.
Lori,

I remember the bomb scare, Robert's recuperation, and how that fit into Robert and Anna's growing romance. Yes, he was a hero, one who risked his life for others. As such, he sometimes faced death (or worse) via a bullet wound, a bomb blast, an elevator fire, or even Faison's devastating hypnosis, yet he fought his way through to overcome it all. The same way he heroically faced those things, he faced his bout with cancer.

Heroes bleed and die, just the same way we mortals do. The difference is that as long as they have an ounce of life in them, they don't give up in the face of adversity. Heroes aren’t there just to look good or to be cool. They are there to get down in the grime where they fight evil and face the grit of devastating crises. Heroes have an aura of hope that becomes a word of encouragement to others.

Superman prevailed over Kryptonite; Indiana Jones overcame hypnosis and escaped certain death many times; Han Solo broke through the life-choking bonds of carbonite. Superheroes must deal with their own weaknesses and demons. Who would have chosen cancer for Robert? Not me. But with that said, I think that seeing Robert battle cancer (an act no less heroic than how these other superheroes faced their battles) only expanded the definition of a hero. In my reality, I see cancer patients who live in fear, and others who bravely fight with every ounce of energy. Many of us know people like that.

For me, Robert was always a hero who gave his all to defeat evil and protect his loved ones. In NS, I saw this same hero dealing with life’s problems (like we mortals do) and choosing to face it head on. Time didn’t diminish his courage or his character. He chose to stay and defeat a disease, so he could live and protect his loved ones another day. Though NS2 kept my stomach in knots at times (and still in knots with the finale), I applaud Sri’s writing and giving me the opportunity to fall in love with Robert all over again. What a man! What a hero!

I loved the storyline but at first it was a devasting diagnosis and still is really. We have missed Robert Scorpio for so long and I remember once in the 80's his character was coming back and we started to watch the show. Frisco & Felicia were on the run and when Robert came back it was such a huge relief because we knew everything was going to be ok.

He was a hero and nothing would stop him from winning. We have been use to Robert taking care of us for so long that this season was probably very hard for many fans. I can understand her feelings but I also enjoyed the emotions of this season. I couldn't believe the tears that poured out. All the old feelings of falling for this character came back.

When there is such an iconic figure that so many people love it is hard to see them go through something painful and emotional. The shame is that it took so long to get Robert back. I loved NS2 and am just grateful we spent time with Robert.

Of course, we love you to Tristan!!! Great job and we miss you now. Please hurry back!
Relax, it's just a TV show. Scorpio is not indestructible. He's a human being who just happens to be superior in intellect and strength. This is not a deconstruction. It's the ultimate battle between good and evil. And guess who won? Robert Scorpio is not a robot. And yes, I do see this with James Bond if you recall the film Never Say Never Again in which Sean Connery plays an older Bond who is dealing with ageism and all the aches and pains of trying to stay in the game. But as far as the James Bonds, Indiana Jones, Han Solos, etc, these are all one dimensional charcaters created specifically for a genre of film that we see for two hours. These are action characters in which we see the the snipets of adventure in that short time in the theatre. With Scorpio we have almost 27 years of story and you can't have just robotic, mindless, adventure in one character in a town of real, living, feeling people. If Robert was not allowed to humanize, then you really have no character. Sure we see the superhero Robert Scorpio. But we also see the behind the scenes Robert as well when he's not working. He's a guy who has an ex-wife, a child with her own child on the way, and a disease he's battling. This is the only way a character like Robert would be believable. If he was only kicking ass, he would be nothing more than a boring cartoon.
